Equal Opportunity Employer

Qualified applicants receive equal consideration for employment without discrimination because of sex, marital status, race, religion, color, creed, national origin, age, sexual orientation, citizenship, veteran's status or disability.

Disability

If you are a qualified applicant with a disability for which you think you may need accommodation during the application, testing, or interview process, please contact the Human Resources Department to request accommodation. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, disability will be considered only in the context of an applicant's ability to perform essential functions of the job and to determine reasonable accommodation. The physical demands described in each job announcement are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Nondiscrimination in the Collective Bargaining Agreement

Article 8.1

The Library and the Union agree that in their service to the public, in their mutual relations, and in all conditions of employment not limited to hiring, promotion, transfer, discharge, evaluation, wages, training, and references written or verbal, they will provide equal opportunity and treatment for all without discrimination, and they shall not discriminate against anyone on account of race, disability, color, creed, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, lifestyle, political ideology, union activities, age, marital or family status, and both parties agree to be in compliance with applicable state and federal laws. The presence or past history of any sensory, mental or physical handicap shall not be a reason for discrimination per se as long as the employee or prospective employee is capable of performing the essential functions of the job. The parties shall take whatever affirmative action is necessary to accomplish these purposes.
